I see a lot of opportunities in our country for how we can be creative in a more sustainable way. We are small country and are always trying to copy Western lifestyle standards. I want to say that all we need for inspiration is close by. That’s way I try to raise old Lithuanian handicrafts for modern living. I believe that sustainability is about preserving cultural heritage. The idea of my collection is to show how traditional things can become modern in a sustainable way. The inspiration behind my collection is trash, rubbish, things that seem to no longer be wanted or needed. Also, I’m speaking about the Baltic Sea and its pollution. In my models I use natural materials such as linen and osier. This is my tribute to traditional trade and local natural resources.
