In the first week of May, at VDA Telšiai Faculty, a creative workshop led by Dr. Dorota Sak, a lecturer at the Textile and Fashion Design Department at the Lodz Academy of Arts in Poland will take place. In the workshop, students will learn about using stitches as unique linear compositions that convert flat fabrics into three-dimensional shapes. They will be faced with a “crossroads” of structural cuts and learn how to design clips according to their individual wishes. Historical periods (Art Nouveau or Art Deco) will serve as a source of inspiration, and students will see how to translate drawings of these kinds into the language of clothing design. The resulting designed clothes will be showcased in an exhibition at the VDA Telšiai Faculty on May 7-11.
