DESIGN CUT

One of DESIGN WEEK LITHUANIA weekend’s events was hosted by Graphic Design Department of Vilnius Academy of Arts and called DESIGN CUT.

Several years ago successfully started students’ project DESIGN CUT in the context of DESIGN WEEK LITHUANIA 2016 invited to create, cut and taste typography: typographic posters and other objects. In the exhibition typographic objects changed each other, i.e. they were created, rebuilt, exhibited and at the same time “destroyed”, so that exhibition space would be free for newly born: creation. The project aimed to unconventionally introduce typography by providing unexpected, edible, breakable, transformable, observable or hard noticeable objects.

Also, during the event students’ works fair was opened, as well as some lectures, discussions and even live music concerts complemented the event.
